In the latest game for the Dallas Mavericks against the Sacramento Kings, their star player Kyrie Irving, tore his ACL while playing. The season-ending injury was painfully obvious for everyone to see, and the player had to be helped off the court after it happened. But even after being in so much pain, Irving scored two shots from the line with perfect accuracy, and it was clear from the fan's reaction present courtside just how impressive and admiring that was.

Kyrie Irving's determination and dedication shine through

During the match between the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings, in which the Kings won 122-98, the Mavs point guard had an ACL tear. He fell down and hurt his left knee during the first quarter of the game and had to be helped off the court. But before he had to leave the game, Kyrie Irving was brought to the line for his two free throws. And even though he was in immense pain, the 32-year-old All-Star made both shots, showing why he is considered one of the best in the business.

Irving has been the player pulling the weight of the whole Mavs team since the Luka Doncic trade in February. He averaged 24.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.6 assists this season, and 39.3 minutes of playtime over his past 10 games. This injury is not just bad news for the player, but the whole team. Anthony Davis is already out with a groin injury and is yet to be cleared for play, and now, with Irving out for the rest of the season, and possibly some of next season as well, the chances of the Dallas Mavericks making it to the playoffs have dropped down significantly.

Kyrie Irving's injury against the Sacramento Kings

After Monday's loss against the Sacramento Kings, the Dallas Mavericks are on a 32-30 run. After the home game, they are the 10th seed in the Western Conference, the final place for the play-in tournament, while the Kings sit at #8. With so many of their players out with injuries, the season is worsening with each day, and their title aspirations have gone down tremendously.

As for Kyrie Irving, it is now confirmed that he will be missing out on the rest of the season at the very least. After a foul by DeMar DeRozan, he fell on his knees awkwardly, and landed on his left leg, injuring himself. It has now been diagnosed to be an ACL tear. He is speculated to be in the final stages of recovery when teams report back for training camp before the next season starts. Hopefully, Irving has a speedy recovery and can get back to the court as soon as possible.
