Reports indicate that he did not join the team for Thursday’s practice, and Malone had no definitive update. "No idea about Friday," Malone said about Jokic on Tuesday. "There's no news out of Denver, so we'll revisit that when we get home. Kind of see where everything's going with his family."

Despite Jokic staying in Denver during his absence, his return to the lineup is not guaranteed for Friday’s game. Malone acknowledged that while communication has been maintained, the balance between staying informed and respecting personal boundaries remains crucial. “I care about (Jokic’s wife) Natalija and their family. … So I’m constantly calling and texting and communicating with all of our guys to see how they’re doing,” Malone shared, underscoring the importance of support during challenging times.

The Nuggets, currently 8-5, managed a mixed 1-2 record on their recent road trip without Jokic. Their victory against Memphis in an NBA Cup game added some momentum, improving their group stage standing to 1-1.
