A few days ago, an unidentified bidder has agreed to pay a whopping $9 million for an hour long lunch with Stephen Curry, his wife popular entrepreneur Ayesha Curry, and billionaire investor Warren Buffett. Now, Stephen Curry has broken his silence.

A few hours ago, in a heartfelt joint statement by Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry, the high profile couple said, “We’re overwhelmed with gratitude for this opportunity…”

The popular couple added, “Which reflects a shared belief that when different generations and institutions come together with purpose, we can create deeper and more lasting impact for the people who need it most…”

For the unversed, the auction for the lunch had begun a few days ago on eBay as reports surfaced of a bidder agreeing to pay $9 million for it.

The identity of the bidder has not been made public yet as the news has sparked chaos among fans.

The winner will be joining Warren Buffett, Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry, along with seven guests of his own choice on June 24 in Omaha, Nebraska at the billionaire investor’s estate.

With the bidder paying $9 million, as per reports, billionaire investor Warren Buffett has also matched the winning bid, raising the amount to a whopping $18 million.

The proceeds from the auction will be exclusively used for Stephen Curry and Ayesha Curry’s co-owned charity foundation, Eat. Learn. Play.

Eat. Learn. Play, has worked for underprivileged families and children of Oakland as it serves to provide them with nutritious food and quality education.

The foundation has been in service for close to a decade and has changed countless lives across Oakland through Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry’s efforts.
