As the
Cleveland Cavaliers (37-9) prepare to take on the
Miami Heat (23-22) on Wednesday, January 29, one of their biggest stars,
Donovan Mitchell, remains a focal point. While the injury report lists three key Cavaliers players as out for the game, Mitchell is not among them, indicating he is expected to play against Miami at Kaseya Center.
According to their latest injury report, the Cleveland Cavaliers will be without:
- Dean Wade (Knee)
- Isaac Okoro (Shoulder)
- Caris LeVert (Wrist)
Despite these absences, the Cavaliers remain one of the strongest teams in the league, led by Mitchell and Darius Garland in the backcourt.

Donovan Mitchell has been a key contributor to the
Cleveland Cavaliers' success this season, averaging 22.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game over the last 20 games. He has also been a major factor from beyond the arc, sinking 3.4 three-pointers per game while maintaining strong efficiency.
Looking at the Cavaliers’ team stats, they rank second in the NBA in three-pointers made per game (16.2) and are first in three-point percentage (39.5%), with Donovan Mitchell playing a major role in their perimeter attack. His scoring prowess and leadership have helped Cleveland maintain a +9.7 point differential per game, making them one of the toughest teams in the league.
With Mitchell expected to suit up, Cleveland will have an advantage over a Heat team dealing with injuries of their own. Miami will be missing Dru Smith (Achilles) and Josh Richardson (Heel), while Jaime Jaquez is listed as probable (Illness). The Heat rely heavily on Tyler Herro (22.8 PPG) and Bam Adebayo (14.5 PPG, 9.1 RPG), but they will need to contain Mitchell and Garland to stay competitive.
