The recently concluded India 'A' cricket tour to the West Indies was supposed to be Delhi's Parvinder Awana's big opportunity to further his reputation-- which he built during this year's IPL-- with the ball. But it didn't go exactly the way he would have loved to.
After having managed to make it to the Caribbean after the first two unofficial Tests due to Visa issues, things got even worse for the paceman.
Having played the third 'Test', Awana injured on the sidelines of the following T20 match--pulling a hamstring. Result-- he got just one game with the India 'A' cap on.
"It is a bit disappointing. I had big expectations but you can't control such situations. I hope I get another shot at it," said Awana who has been Delhi's premier seamer during the last domestic season which earned him his first
IPL contract with the Kings XI Punjab.
However, after taking almost a month's break Awana has started training. He is still under rehabilitation and has started with light jogging. Although no specialist trainer isn't monitoring his daily progress but he is following a regime that India 'A' physical trainer had given him.
