NEW DELHI: The Delhi and District Cricket Association has finally formed a 13-member cricket improving committee under the chairmanship of its president
Arun Jaitley to prevent incidents like the 2009 Ferozeshah Kotla pitch fiasco happening in near future.
The demand for such a committee had gained ground for a long time and the pitch episode, which led to the abandonment of the India-Sri Lanka ODI in 2009, had triggered a wave of protests against the current office bearers.
Apart from Jaitley, the committee includes former cricketers in Bishen Singh Bedi, who is the co-chairman,
Kirti Azad, Madan Lal, Maninder Singh and Surinder Khanna.
DDCA general secretary SP Bansal is the convenor of the committee, which also includes three DDCA vice-presidents, sports secretary, two joint secretaries and convenor of the sports working committee as special invitees.
