DURBAN: Flamboyant South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has finally got a divorce from his wife Tenielle Gibbs, after a compromise agreement in a last minute deal.
One of the conditions was that the settlement would not be made public. Gibbs, who is currently with the South African team in England got married a year ago in a fairy-style wedding in the Caribbean island of St Kitts in June last year.

But the couple broke up a few months ago and Tenielle Gibbs filed for divorce, making exorbitant demands to keep her lifestyle.
She claimed about USD$12 000 for monthly maintenance; about $3000 for rent a month; about $750 a month for groceries; $500 for clothing and $400 for a psychologist.
Tenielle claimed Gibbs earned about $912,500 this year and that he should pay to sustain her lifestyle.
However, Herschelle Gibbs mother Barbara Gibbs has labelled the cricketer's former wife as a "bloody madam". She spoke to the local Sunday Times newspaper about the problems her son was going through.
She said she had warned Gibbs against Tenielle from the start and therefore had not attended the wedding in the West Indies. "I was so unhappy about their marriage. He works so hard for his money and deserves a wonderful wife - not this woman, who's always been bossy and just wanted her own way," she said.
