DURBAN: South African cricketer, Herschelle Gibbs, will plead not guilty when he goes on trial on December 3 on charges of drunken driving, his attorney said.
His attorney, Peter Whelan, said that the cricketer is going to plead not guilty on drunken driving charges soon after Gibbs appeared in a Cape Town Magistrates' Court on the charges.
Gibbs himself refused to speak to the media during his brief court appearance.
The Magistrate postponed the case to December three.
The magistrate also re-instated his R500 bail and withdrew the warrant of arrest issued after he had failed to appear in the court on June 27 this year, as he was in playing cricket in England.
He was arrested in March for driving under the influence of alcohol. Recently, Gibbs reached an divorce agreement his wife. No details of the agreement were divulged to the media.
