MUMBAI: India will host a big share of matches of the cricket World Cup 2011 after Pakistan were dumped as co-hosts by the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The ICC stripped Pakistan as co-hosts on April 17, six weeks after armed gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan team convoy en route to the Gaddafi Stadium on the third day of their Test against Pakistan in Lahore.

The Central Organizing Committee (COC) for the World Cup has also been restructured. I S Bindra, special advisor to ICC, has been appointed as a key advisor to the World Cup managing committee.
Mahbubul Anam of Bangladesh has been named as convenor of the working group committee with BCCI secretary N Srinivasan, Cricket Sri Lankas Duleep Mendis and Shetty as members.
"The re-organising of the COC is actually quite simple. Pakistan falls out of that. The remaining three host countries will form the COC with the ICC represented on that as well," Lorgat said.
