Ishant to play for Delhi in Syed Mushtaq Ali tourney

NEW DELHI: India pace discard Ishant Sharma, who failed to make it to the 15-member World Cup squad, was on Tuesday included in the Delhi Ranji team for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy matches to be played at Hyderabad from March 13.Ishant will spearhead the Delhipace attack, which also consists of Pradeep Sangwan, Sumit Narwal among theother notable names.Seasoned batsman Mithun Manhas will lead the15-member squad. Shikhar Dhawan and all-rounder Rajat Bhatia would be themainstays of Delhi batting line-up.The state selection panel, underthe chairmanship of former India cricketer Chetan Chauhan, met here to pick thesquad. Delhi coach Manoj Prabhakar, Nikhil Chopra, Hari Gidwani, Bantu Singh andDDCA convener Sunil Dev also attended themeeting.
