MUMBAI: Left arm spinner Suchit Jagadeesh took four wickets as Jain University, Bangalore (Southern Champs) beat Mumbai University (Western Wolves) by six runs in a low-scoring semifinal of the Toyota University Cricket Championship on Friday. They now face Jamia University, Delhi in the finals to be played on Sunday.
Bangalore elected to bat first, but some great bowling by Mumbai restricted them to just 145/6 in their 20 overs.
But as it turns out, it was just enough to see them through. Gourav Goel was the topscorer for his team, scoring 38 runs from 42 balls.
Mumbai's batting failed to deliver with their talisman Kevin D'Almeida managing just 21 runs.
