NAGPUR: After an average performance in Round One of the MN Dorairajan three-day cricket Trophy, the senior players have struck form, something that would gladden the hearts of the Vidarbha team management.
As many as nine players, including four youngsters, reached the three-figure mark. Middle-order batsman Shalabh Shrivastava, former captain Ranjit Paradkar, allrounder Ravi Jangid and Urvesh Patel started the season on a bright note.

Newly appointed coach Vijay Telang be happy to see Jangid scoring runs. Jangid, one of the key players in the Vidarbha side, had an awful last season with the bat where he couldn't even get past the hundred mark. Though he performed pretty well with the ball, it was his batting failure that hit Vidarbha on a few occasions.
Paradkar, on the other hand, had a great last season where made more than 500 runs and averaged over 100. He was the only from Vidarbha to be selected for Duleep Trophy.
With Vidarbha likely to be placed in Tier 'B' of the Ranji Trophy - where they will face the stiff competiton from other Elite Group teams - next season, his form will be crucial for the side. Shrivastava had a good last season but it's the consistency, he would like to focus on.
Patel, on the other hand, was part of the Vidarbha squad in every format. Though he didn't get the chance in the longer format, his form in the shorter format was excellent and he was the only one from Vidarbha to be selected in the Duleep Trophy.
