NEW DELHI: A day after chairing the disciplinary meeting of the Indian board,
BCCI president in-exile N Srinivasan again chaired the meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Chennai on Saturday.
However, Srinivasan had skipped the previous ACC meeting in Kuala Lumpur as he had stepped aside from day-to-day working of cricket affairs till the time the IPL probe was over.
That meeting was attended by BCCI joint secretary
Anurag Thakur then. Now that the IPL probe is still not complete, it was "surprising" for many of his detractors in the cricket establishment to see him chairing the ACC meeting.
Srinivasan, who is the chairman and an ACC executive board member, chairing the meeting didn’t surprise the BCCI. "There is nothing against him and there is no reason why he shouldn’t chair the meet," a top BCCI official said.
It was also revealed that the 29th September BCCI AGM is likely to be chaired by Srinivasan. "He has expressed his wish to chair the AGM as well. He is still the BCCI president after all," the official added.
