We will convince Younis to take back resignation: PCB
KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board is confident that Younis Khan will take back his resignation as the decision was made in the heat of the moment.
Younis on Tuesday left captaincy after being called to explain match fixing allegations on him.
"I think right now Younis is very upset and he has taken his decision because he is hurt. But I am confident that after a few days he will reconsider his decision," Wasim Bari, PCB chief operating officer, said.

"I am confident that we will be able to convince him to take back his resignation. Younis is a very emotional person as we have seen in the past. But he will be convinced to take back his resignation," Bari added.
The former Test captain also made it clear that the Chairman of the Board Ejaz Butt had not accepted Younis' resignation as yet.
This is not the first time that Younis has resigned to protest against something.
In 2006 just before the Champions Trophy in India, he had resigned to protest the behavior of former PCB chairman Shaharyar Khan but was later convinced by new Chairman Nasim Ashraf to take back his resignation.

Meanwhile, the federal sports minister Aftab Shah Jillani has also described the resignation decision by Younis as an emotional one.
But Jillani made it clear the government would not get involved in the matter as it was an internal matter of the Board and they would handle it in their own way.
"I think Younis has taken a very emotional decision. There was no need for him to resign like this. Even if he was unhappy with the comments of the Chairman of the National Assembly standing committee on sports, he should have made his point of view clear at the hearing today," Jillani stated.
But the minister admitted that players were sensitive individuals and there was no need to call them for hearing.
"I think the management is responsible for everything and they should be the ones who are called for any inquiry," he said.
