Jordan Poyer's wife Rachel Bush Questions Barack Obama’s Credibility After Campaign Speech for Kamala Harris

Barack Obama's campaigning for Kamala Harris met with skepticism, particularly from Rachel Bush, wife of NFL star Jordan Poyer. Rachel criticized Obama’s speech and Harris’s priorities during a hurricane crisis, while also addressing the mental health impact of social media on NFL players.

As the 2024 election season reaches its peak, former President Barack Obama has been actively campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris. However, his recent speech at a "Black Voters for Harris" event in East Liberty failed to impress Rachel Bush, wife of NFL star Jordan Poyer. On Friday, Bush took to her X (formerly Twitter) account to question Obama’s credibility, stating, “You can tell he doesn’t even believe in the words coming out of his mouth. A good speaker, and he can’t even deliver this in a credible way."

Criticism of Harris Amid Hurricane Crisis

This is not the first time Rachel Bush has voiced her disappointment with political figures. Earlier in the week, she also called out Kamala Harris for appearing on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast while the country is in a national crisis due to a hurricane. "Aw so glad she has time for this. Not like Americans are in any sort of crisis that should have the undivided attention of the current** administration." Bush wrote, pointing out what she saw as misplaced priorities.

Bush on Mental Health and NFL Pressures

Rachel Bush has opinions regarding much more than anything remotely related to politics. Now that the Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery has spoken about his suicidal thoughts in the past, Rachel Bush spoke to fans and others around the nation about what she feels is relevant information related to the issue of mental health and the NFL.
She feels that social media pressures are essential factors driving problems with mental health for professional athletes. "Jordan & I (along with others) have had the conversation about what has changed in football over the years that is slowly deteriorating it. One of the main conclusions we came to was social media for multiple different reasons. Too many to list in one tweet. But how sad," she wrote.

He also touched on the negative comments the players face from the fans, mentioning that these should be used to uplift the athlete instead of tearing them down. "One thing I personally have not been able to grasp over our NFL years is how fans will trash talk and speak so negatively on one of their own team’s players. The best thing you could do for that player and that team is uplift."

In an attempt to not let the mental health battles go unnoticed inside and outside the NFL, Rachel Bush has been vocal against not only Barack Obama but also Kamala Harris. And online discussions were ongoing on such remarks by her regarding the campaign efforts of Obama. As was expected due to high political tensions during the election season, there was equal support and opposition for this remark made by Rachel.
