A lot is happening in the NFL staff. Some were hired, and some were fired. Some were promoted, and some were demoted. Some would return, and some would leave. But the game must go on.
Even if the Super Bowl LIX between the best two NFL teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, is happening in 9 days. There’s no stopping for the NFL staff. The shuffling has begun, and we’ve gathered a few more reshuffled teams for you in Part 2 of the 2025 NFL staff tracker.
Detroit Lions accept Kelvin Sheppard and John Morton gladly
Sheila Ford Hamp’s team was going to cast a spell and reach the Super Bowl station, but it didn’t. And, so, she’s making the necessary changes. Like?
- Linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard will be offered a promotion, and the role would be of the defensive coordinator. Kelvin walks in the shoes of the former DC for the Lions, Aaron Glenn. Aaron Glenn was promoted from his DC role to the head coach’s role at the New York Jets.

- John Morton becomes the offensive coordinator for the Lions. John Morton was a pass game coordinator at the Denver Broncos. He steps into the role played by Ben Johnson. Ben Johnson got promoted from his OC role at the Lions to the head coach’s role at the Chicago Bears.
Jacksonville Jaguars nod to Liam Coen and Anthony Campanile
Shahid Khan, owner of the Jaguars, brought some advancements to his team. Those are:
- Liam Coen becomes the head coach for the Jaguars. He steps into the shoes of Doug Pederson. The Jaguars team had scrutinized at least ten candidates for the HC role but settled on Liam Coen. He was apparently Shahid Khan’s favorite.

- Anthony Campanile joins the Jaguars as their defensive coordinator. He was formerly with the Green Bay Packers as their linebackers coach and defensive running game coordinator. It is Campanile’s first defensive coordinator role, and he got it in his 6th NFL year.
New England Patriots shout out to Mike Vrabel, Josh McDaniels, and Terrell Williams
Robert Kraft believes in relieving the Super Bowl wins of the Patriots, and so he’s made modifications that would get him those:
- Mike Vrabel returns to his home ground, the Patriots, as the head coach now. He played for the Patriots as a linebacker and was even a part of the three Super Bowl wins. Vrabel was the head coach for the Tennessee Titans. He replaces Jerod Mayo in the Patriots.
- Josh McDaniels returns to the Patriots as their offensive coordinator. He was the head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders before that. Josh McDaniels was also a part of the three Super Bowl wins for the Patriots.

- Terrell Williams becomes the new defensive coordinator for the Patriots. He was a defensive line coach and run game coordinator for the Detroit Lions. He takes over for DeMarcus Covington.
