Former Falcons safety Keanu Neal has announced his retirement from the NFL on Sunday after eight seasons

Keanu Neal, a veteran safety, announced his retirement from the NFL after eight seasons. He was selected in the 2016 draft by the Atlanta Falcons and played in 89 games, making 69 starts for four different teams. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for 8 seasons, primarily with the Atlanta Falcons, He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 17th overall pick in the 2016 NFL draft. He played college football for the Florida Gators.
Keanu Neal, a safety, announced on social media that he will be retiring from the NFL after eight seasons after not playing in 2024. "God has blessed my family and I in so many ways. Particularly in the game of football," Neal said on Instagram. "20 years ago, I started this journey. Today, I am retiring from the NFL. Gods' timing is always the right timing.

After five seasons with the Falcons, he signed with the Cowboys in 2021 and switched from safety to linebacker. He returned to the secondary for the final two seasons with the Buccaneers and Steelers. He was released by the Steelers in March. He finished his career with 523 tackles, four interceptions, and eight forced fumbles.
Neal, a Florida Gators player, began his career in Atlanta with the Falcons in the 2016 NFL Draft. He started 14 games and recorded 106 tackles. In his best season, he started all 16 games and recorded 116 tackles, four tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and one interception, earning his first and only Pro Bowl nod.

Atlanta's five-season tenure ended with one-year stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2021, he transitioned to linebacker before returning to safety. Neal, 29, ended his NFL career with 523 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 11 QB hits, eight forced fumbles, four interceptions, and 2.5 sacks.
