“He feels defeated”: Travis Kelce reportedly stalls wedding plans with Taylor Swift amid a difficult emotional period

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have had a lot to deal with in their lives ever since the two announced their engagement in August 2025.

While many fans expected the two to announce their wedding dates, it seems the wedding has been delayed because of Travis Kelce’s feelings.

A few days ago, as per Daily Mail, a source revealed that, “Travis is a bit defeated right now...he is used to still be playing, and he is missing not being on the field, which might bode well for his fans and the Chiefs if he decides to play another year.”



The source added, “Taylor doesn't want the stress of planning their wedding to ‘come between them.’”

As per Daily Mail, the source continued, “She is focusing on positivity right now, but she wants him to be in a place where he is happy because at the end of the day, that will make them happy.”

However, neither Taylor Swift nor Travis Kelce has responded to the speculations as they continue to maintain complete silence about their wedding plans.

Will Travis Kelce retire before marrying Taylor Swift this year?

Travis Kelce started the season with a lot of ambition after a brutal loss at the Super Bowl LIX last season against the Philadelphia Eagles.

But things soon came crashing down as Travis Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, failed to perform on the field.

With their loss against the Los Angeles Chargers, the team lost their chance to qualify in the playoffs as Patrick Mahomes also sustained a major injury after sustaining a brutal ACL and LCL tear.

Amid all the mess, there have also been strong speculations about Travis Kelce opting for retirement at the end of this ongoing season.

On a recent episode of his popular podcast, New Heights, Travis Kelce addressed the retirement rumors and said, "I've talked to a few people in the facility already, having the exit meetings, and they know where I stand at least right now…”

Travis Kelce added, “There's a lot of love for the game that's still there. I don't think I'll ever lose that. It's a tough thing to navigate…”
