Dak Prescott, the highest-paid QB of all time, has not had the best start to the season this year, with the Dallas Cowboys having a 2-2 start. The team has suffered a blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints and will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday Night Football. Prescott recently spoke to reporters about the Cowboys' slow start and whether he has been playing his best football.
"I’m playing solid football. I think if you broke down all four games, there’s a play or two, a couple of plays within that I want back. … I can tell you my best is damn sure, I’m on the brink of it. I feel like I’m stepping into that. … It’s damn sure coming," he told reporters. Cowboys won their last road game against the Steelers in 2016, during Prescott's rookie year.
Fans hope Prescott, with eight years under his belt, can beat the Steelers again.
The Cowboys will be without their major offensive weapons, LB Micah Parsons, DE DeMarcus Lawrence, and wideout Brandin Cooks, due to injuries, making the upcoming weeks tough for the team, as they will miss the Steelers game. Yet, Prescott seemed optimistic about the Steelers game and said, "(A 2-2 record) is not acceptable for us," Prescott said. "It's about finding a way to win, starting this Sunday, and moving forward one game at a time." (H/T ESPN)
Intended to serve as a backup in his rookie season, Prescott became the Cowboys' starting quarterback after starter Tony Romo was injured in the preseason. He went on to lead the Cowboys to the top seed of the National Football Conference (NFC) and set several rookie quarterback records, earning him Offensive Rookie of the Year. Prescott has since led the Cowboys to three additional division titles and made three Pro Bowl appearances. In 2022, he won the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.
