Jared Goff’s Detroit Lions tied to $156 million Buffalo Bills defensive end

The San Francisco 49ers probably do not want to add their defensive end Nick Bosa’s brother, Joey Bosa, to their franchise. If they wanted him, they would have added him.Now, with this not taking a turn the way it should have, or at least the way Bosa brothers’ mother, Cheryl, hoped it would have, several other franchises are predicted to land the Buffalo Bills’ defensive end. With one ranking the highest: the Jared Goff led-Detroit Lions.NFL Network’s Nick Shook reports that a Bills DE could be the perfect edge opposite Aidan Hutchinson. The analyst insists Detroit takes this call as long as it’s affordable.Bosa made $13.2 million in 2025. He performed exceptionally well at the start of the season, but then his performance was derailed by the end. And that’s why his earning power in 2026 may decrease.Even at 30, Bosa is in ‘veteran mercenary territory.’ He has proved in the past two seasons that his injuries would not concern him, but Shook believes they might follow him. If he can take slightly less than his representation thinks he deserves, he may find a home in Hutchinson’s Lions. It would suit both him and the franchise.Detroit recently acquired productive veteran D.J. Wonnum from the Carolina Panthers, and their in-house edge rusher, Aidan, will take up all the attention. So, Bosa may not find it too taxing to be there.The Sporting News’ Billy Heyen reports the Lions have Hutchinson, but every time they discuss their team needs, a special mention is given to having a strong partner for their star DE. The Bills’ edge was a consistent rotational piece; he helped his team throughout the year. He played an average of 36.3 snaps per game for them, and this is also around somewhere that Campbell’s franchise would want him to play. He can still get off the defensive line quickly and possesses a rare ability to disrupt the backfield at a high level. He made the Pro Bowl five times, the last in 2024. In 2025, he recorded 29 total tackles, five sacks, nine tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hits, 47 pressures, 563 total snaps, five forced fumbles [league leading], and five passes defended over 15 games for Josh Allen’s team.Five-time Pro Bowler Joey Bosa is also predicted to join New England, with NFL Network's Matt Okada deeming the defensive end a good fit for the Patriots. Okada calls the 30-year-old former Bill a more mild, realistic option as a well-seasoned, rotational veteran. He just needs to be paired with a 2026 first-round edge rusher. According to Spotrac, Bosa is projected to sign a two-year, $27M contract, giving him an average annual salary of $13.7M.
