Kansas City Chiefs earn 13th victory, but Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury puts postseason future in doubt

Last night the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cleveland Browns and had their 13th win this season. But amidst all the celebrations it was revealed that the NFL star of the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes has sustained an injury in the fourth quarter as he got in between two defenders. This led to fans watching Mahomes limping and taking off from the field. This sight was extremely unsettling for both the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs as well as the team’s management as Mahomes is the star quarterback for the team.However, there is some good news for the Chiefs’ fans because as per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Mahomes was immediately taken for X-rays and it came back showing that his right ankle was not broken. While this might be good news for the fans who were worried about how would Mahomes play the upcoming games, Mahomes’ ankle is still not in a good condition. His ankle is sore and will be back on the field as “week to week”. Now this makes the situation a little bit tricky for the Kansas City Chiefs as it was Patrick Mahomes who led the team to a Super Bowl Championship last season.After the Kansas City Chiefs had their 13th win against the Cleveland Browns, Mahomes addressed the media and issued a statement about his situation with the ankle injury. He explained to the media how he sustained this injury on his right ankle but also assured his fans that he will be taking rehab and try to get back on the field next week. Mahomes said, "We’re up in the pocket, obviously fourth down trying to make a play happen and as I threw the ball [I got] kind of hit and it felt like someone hit me from behind so I just got rolled up on, which kind of happens in football. Luck was not on Mahomes side last night as this is the worst time for Mahomes to be injured. The Kansas City Chiefs have performed really well this season and Mahomes should be credited for it. The next match is on Saturday when the Kansas City Chiefs will be facing the Houston Texans as fans wait to see Mahomes back on the field.
