Michael Strahan, the NFL icon and the host of Good Morning America, has been pretty open about his daughter, Isabella Strahan’s tough battle with cancer. In a recent interview with People, Michael opened up about the things he had to experience as he and his family supported Isabella through her cancer journey. One of the things that Michael said that bothered him was, hearing his daughter fighting to live.

Michael spoke about how his daughter, Isabella Strahan, had a pretty tough time last year as she experienced chemotherapy for brain cancer. Michael recalled that Isabella’s spirit never gave up even though she had become pretty thin physically and was unable to eat. The NFL icon also spoke about how the Strahan family was looking for some ray of hope as 19 year old Isabella fought strongly against cancer.
Even after being one of the greatest players in the history of the NFL, Michael believes his 19 year old daughter, Isabella is “a lot stronger than I am.”
In the interview with People, Isabella’s twin sister, Sophia, also recalled that she was one of the first people who had advised Isabella to visit the ER after she complained about throwing up blood.
The NFL icon, Michael Strahan’s daughter, Isabella Strahan, made a full recovery from cancer back in August 2024. When she was diagnosed with brain cancer, she had attended only 50 days of classes at the prestigious USC. After she was declared cancer free, she went back to college and became an inspiration for many.
Isabella is completing her degree in Bachelors of Journalism and she is currently having the time of her life at the University of South California. Recently, Isabella posted some pictures on her Instagram story about joining the Delta Gamma sorority and it seems like the young woman finally has her life back on track.
Michael Strahan Has Experienced A Lot Of Change In His Mentality
Since the time Michael’s 19 year old daughter was diagnosed with cancer, he had also previously spoken about how her diagnosis changed many things in his life, especially his perspective on life. In an interview with Town & County, he had spoken about how he always loved spending time with his family but now he gives extra importance to it and manages his professional commitments accordingly.
It seems like as Isabella Strahan fought a tough battle against cancer, it changed a lot of things for every member of the family. In the interview with People, Isabella also expressed gratitude to her family since “they dropped everything” to meet her at the doctor’s.
A story like Isabella Strahan’s is an inspiration for many who are on the same path to recovery as she was. Isabella’s journey will be shown on an upcoming show on ABC special called, Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan's Fight Against Cancer. The show will air on 5th February at 10PM.
