The Kansas City Chiefs’ star player Rashee Rice is all set to miss the team’s minicamp ahead of the new season.
Rashee Rice has been sentenced to jail for a period of 30 days after he reportedly violated his probation. While Rashee Rice’s team has not issued a statement yet, this legal trouble had cost him a whopping $115,000 in 2024.
Rashee Rice spent over $100,000 because of the damages he caused
Back in 2024, when Rashee Rice was driving his Lamborghini Urus, he ended up colliding with multiple cars.
Even though no deaths were reported, multiple people ended up injured. As per reports, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star player Rashee Rice ended up paying restitution for the victims’ out-of-pocket medical expenses, which exceeded $115,000.
But that’s not all; to make matters worse, multiple civil lawsuits were filed against the star player as he was driving his Lamborghini Speed at an estimated 119 mph just before he found himself in the middle of a multi vehicular crash.
Interestingly, Rashee Rice had disappeared from the accident when police arrived at the scene.
Back on 17th July 2025, the 25 year old Kansas City Chiefs’ star pleaded guilty to two third degree felony charges and was sentenced to 30 days in prison and five years’ probation.
As per ESPN, Rashee Rice never served the jail time and is now serving his original 30 day sentence.
Rashee Rice had expressed his regret as he now serves jail time
Last year as the Kansas City Chiefs suspended him from the first 6 games of the seasons, Rashee Rice expressed regret in a heartfelt statement.
The Kansas City Chiefs star player wrote, "There have been a lot of sleepless nights thinking about the damages that my actions caused, and I will continue working within my means to make sure that everyone impacted will be made whole.”
Rashee Rice added, “I urge everyone to mind the speed limit, drive safe and drive smart…”
For now, Rashee Rice has been jailed without bond until 16th June after he tested positive for THC. This has also sparked major outrage as many fans demand him to be released by the team.
