Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans is a monster event, both as the championship decider but also as the crown jewel of the NFL. The halftime show is one of the world's largest concerts, and the commercial breaks allow the world's biggest companies to display their brand to over a hundred million people at the same time. Tens of thousands of fans come to watch the game, with billions of dollars being wagered on the outcome and some of the highest-paid players in the league.

Super Bowl LIX: How much does a hotel room cost during the big game?

STR, a hotel market research firm, reports the average hotel rate in New Orleans at $650 per night, compared to Las Vegas' 10-year high at $747 per night. This is still the second-highest price in the last ten years; however, the figure might change as the Super Bowl approaches, considering the booking window usually takes two to three weeks before the event.

In the neighborhood closest to the stadium, the Business District, hotels are averaging about $1,200 per night. Prices for 2- and 3-star hotels are being averaged at about $400 to $700 per night.
The least expensive average hotel price was in Tampa for the 2021 Super Bowl at $249 per night. The COVID-19 pandemic had limited the city's capacity. This is the city that first hosted a Super Bowl, which might have increased the cost, as is the case next year when the Rams won Super Bowl in Los Angeles at an average price of $374.

Super Bowl LIX: Cost of a commercial

Fox's 30-second Super Bowl LIX ad will be the same as in the past two years at $7 million. However, AdAge reported that the price increased to $8 million, 88% higher than the amount from 10 years ago.

The cost of a 30-second ad spot in Super Bowl I was $37,500, which, after inflation adjustments, translates to $370,000. Meanwhile, a 30-second spot during Super Bowl XVIII - that featured Apple's iconic "1984" commercial - was $368,200, or $1.2 million adjusted for inflation.

Super Bowl LIX: Cost of a ticket

The average ticket price for this year's Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans is $7,388, about $1,800 cheaper than last year's game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Super Bowl LIX remains the second-most expensive game in the last decade, though the price may fluctuate. New Orleans is also a few weeks away from the New Year's Day attack on Bourbon Street.
