Travis Kelce opened up in 2020 about his journey when he struggled for “recognition” and now he is breaking records and earning $34 million

Travis Kelce is considered to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL history and is one of the highest paid tight ends in the League currently. The 2024 season of the National Football League proved to be really lucky for him as Travis signed a contract with the Kansas City Chiefs that was worth $34 million. But the journey to this much popularity, fame and wealth was not an easy one. A few years ago, Kelce opened up about his journey as a tight end on ESPN’s First Take.Kelce spoke about how during the start of his career, he really put in a lot of effort to be “recognised” for his skills on the field. He said, “Throughout my career, the beginning years, I was just always trying my hardest just to get recognized, just to be in the talks of one of the top tight ends in the league.” It is pretty evident how much Travis worked for the fame he has today as his aim was always to be the top tight end - something that is true today. Kelce is not having the best time in his career in the 2024 NFL season as the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, but that does not mean he was not able to break certain records this season. Last night, in one of the most anticipated matches this season, as the Kansas City Chiefs went against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kelce made a record for his team for receiving touchdowns with 77, with a 12-yard touchdown reception. The Kansas City Chiefs have won the last three Super Bowls and Kelce has been an important contributor in these wins. Kelce’s bond with another star player of the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, is often credited for the success that the Kansas City Chiefs has experienced in the last couple of years. For the 2024 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs have again proved to be one of the strongest teams this season and Kelce has been hugely credited for it. Next month the Kansas City Chiefs will be entering the playoffs.Coming from a pretty modest background in Ohio, Kelce has really proved that all it takes is hard work to become the best in a certain field. It looks like the hard work and effort that Travis began to put into his career from the very beginning and still continues to put, in has completely worked out in his favour. Kelce is also a nine time Pro Bowler and a seven time All Pro. At 35, Kelce has broken and made several records and is in no mood to pause. While there are rumours and speculations about his retirement, nothing has been confirmed yet and Kelce has not made any statements about it.
