NEW DELHI: India's shooting duo Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh have secured a spot in the bronze-medal match for the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024 after finishing third in the qualification round. They will face South Korea, who placed fourth. Meanwhile, the gold medal match will see Turkiye and Serbia go head-to-head.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh amassed a total of 580-20x points in the qualification round, ensuring their place in the medal match. South Korea secured the fourth position with 579-18x points. Turkiye topped the qualification with 582-18x points, followed closely by Serbia, who scored 581-24x points.

Unfortunately, the other Indian team, consisting of Rhythm Sangwan and Arjun Singh Cheema, finished in the 10th spot, thus missing out on the medal rounds.



Manu Bhaker also made history on Sunday by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Olympics. She secured a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event with a score of 221.7, bringing India's first medal in the ongoing mega event.

South Korea's Ye Jin clinched the gold medal in the same event with an Olympic record of 243.2 points, while her compatriot, Kim Yeji, took the silver with a score of 241.3 points.
