HYDERABAD:
Dabang Delhi pulled off yet another thrilling last-minute 30-29 win against
Tamil Thalaivas on the penultimate day of the Hyderabad leg of the Pro
Kabaddi League (
PKL) Season 7 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, here on Thursday.
Thalaivas had only themselves to blame themselves for the loss. Despite the experienced duo of Indian skipper Ajay Thakur and Rahul Chaudhari putting up an impressive display, a couple of defence lapses allowed Delhi to bounce back in the final few minutes of the game and helped them register their second consecutive win.
They had defeated Telugu Titans by an identical margin on Wednesday.
Initially, it was Thalaivas who dominated the game. Thakur set the tone after an unsuccessful raid by Chaudhari. Thakur, who scored 700 plus points in PKL so far, began the scoring for Thalaivas.
An unsuccessful do-or-die raid by Iran’s Meraj Sheykh gave Thalaivas a 2-1 lead. Rahul too joined the party to put Thalaivas ahead.
Delhi managed to draw level at 5-5, thanks to defender Joginder Narwal's super tackle. However, Thalaivas soon inflicted an all out to take an 11-6 lead. At halftime, Thalaivas were sitting pretty at 18-11.
