NEW DELHI: Haryana's
Smriti Singh and Delhi's Suyash Gupta won the under-17 HCL Inter-School Tennis Challenge that concluded in the Capital on Sunday.
Smriti Singh beat Anu Verma to claim the girls title by 9-6 while Suyash Gupta put up an impressive show to defeat Yugal Bansal 2-6, 6-1, 10-8 to claim the boys' championship title.
The individual champions will get an opportunity to train for a week at the Schuttler Waske Tennis University in Germany , where junior doubles Wimbledon champion
Sumit Nagal has been training for the last one year.
The runners-up will get to train at MBTA centre in Cochin. The six-day tournament was organized by
Mahesh Bhupathi Tennis Academy (MBTA) and IT giants HCL.
In the team event, Pathways World School, Gurgaon beat Mt. Carmel School in the girls under-15 by 2-1. In the boy's under-15, Delhi Public School, R K Puram defeated MM Public School, Pitampura by the same margin.
