The WWE NXT Universe was sent into a frenzy with the shocking arrival of former AEW star Ricky Starks. The Absolute One gained prominence as a top AEW star for many years. However, he had been absent from television since March 2024 while continuing to wrestle in outside promotions.
However, PWInsider reported that Ricky Starks officially became a free agent on Monday. It was the very next night on Tuesday that Starks made his shocking debut in NXT. Moreover, it is widely expected that the former FTW Champion will eventually rise up to the main roster. So here are the three WWE matches that should happen for Ricky Starks in the global juggernaut:
3. Mixed tag team action partnering with Jade Cargill
It is no secret that Jade Cargill and Ricky Starks share a close bond of friendship since their days in AEW. The Storm was very happy at the sight of Starks joining WWE like her and even tweeted out a message to welcome him to the sports entertainment juggernaut. This would obviously mean the fans would love to see them share onscreen space in WWE sometime. This could happen after Ricky Starks NXT tenure since Cargill is on the main roster and possibly see both of them team up one time for mixed tag team action.

He rose to the top of the Black and Grey brand at Deadline Premium Live Event by defeating Trick Williams to become the NXT Champion.
