NEW DELHI: Bron Breakker took the spotlight in the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble, stepping in for Brock Lesnar, who was originally scheduled to make his WWE return on Saturday's highly anticipated show. The decision to replace Lesnar came in the wake of serious allegations made against the 46-year-old in a recent lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis.
Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, wrestling analysts on Wrestling Observer Radio, addressed the situation, shedding light on the last-minute alteration to the Royal Rumble match.

Meltzer commented on the change, saying, "I think most people know this but Brock Lesnar was scheduled to return at the Rumble, and this was a change, obviously, that was made because of the lawsuit. So, the change was made probably Friday, most likely, perhaps Saturday morning."
Bron Breakker, despite not being originally planned for the match, seamlessly stepped into Lesnar's role, fulfilling the scripted segments that were intended for the returning WWE star.

"Brock was going to be in there looking impressive, so they needed someone to fill those shoes. There weren't a lot of guys that they would give that spot to," Meltzer added.
Breakker, entering the match at number twenty, made a significant impact by eliminating Omos, Ivar, Finn Balor, and Jimmy Uso. His performance mirrored the role Lesnar was intended to play, including the specific eliminations. However, Breakker's involvement was not part of the initial plan for the Royal Rumble.

Despite his impressive showing, Breakker's time in the match was cut short as he was eliminated by Dominik Mysterio after just over 5 minutes in the ring.
The controversy surrounding Brock Lesnar stems from the Wall Street Journal's report on Thursday, detailing the lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant. The lawsuit accuses Vince McMahon of sexual abuse and exploitation, alleging that McMahon used a sexual encounter with Grant as leverage during contract negotiations with Lesnar.
The lawsuit reads, "That December, McMahon gave Grant’s personal cellphone number to the WWE star, the lawsuit said. The wrestler asked her to send a video of herself urinating, the suit said, and after she did, he called her a 'b—.' That same month, the suit said, the star expressed a desire to 'set a play date,' but a snowstorm disrupted his travel plans."
