Former WWE Champion and the current AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson(aka Daniel Bryan)has opened up on his days as the ‘Planet’s Champion’ in WWE in 2019, where he had an eco WWE title with him and always preached sustainability, handing out environmental friendly advice. Once in a promo, he legitimately criticized the then WWE CEO,
Vince McMahon and surprisingly it got passed by him.
In an interview with Kenny Mcintosh of ‘Inside the Ropes’, Bryan has reflected on that particular instance.
Daniel Bryan as the ‘Planet’s Champion’Bryan was taken aback and actually enjoyed the whole episode ,as he was greenlit to share his feelings about Mr. McMahon that two in a negative manner. “So, the one that I was really surprised by, and I actually got invited to speak at Rutgers University after this promo. I did an interview with AJ Styles and Vince, and I said in the promo that Vince's generation is the real problem of everything and they bowed down to him. I was surprised they let me say any of that, because these concepts were my ideas, but then we still had to pitch it. There is still a format and a script. He was like, Yeah, ok. I was like really, I can say all this?” Recalled Bryan, about the surprising instance of Mr. McMahon agreeing on criticizing him in a promo.

Continuing the discussion about his time as the Eco Friendly Champion, Danielsen stated “I had so much fun, that was so much fun. Because, you know, we all have different aspects of our personality, right? There is very much a part of me that is like the Planet’s Champion. Except instead of putting that scorn on other people, I don't look at people and be like you should be doing this, or you should be doing this. I look at myself and think I should be doing this, I should be doing that, I shouldn't be consuming so much. So it's like yeah, all that stuff that was twisted on the American fans was actually my own self loathing.” ending the statement with a laugh.
It is clear that the character which was portrayed by Bryan as the planet champion, was his own alter ego just that the ranting part was made up. He himself wanted to make a sustainable environment for the world and all the ranting that he did on the mic, was actually targeted at himself. As for Vince McMahon, he is no more the CEO of WWE. Right now, he is battling allegations of harassment and abuse by his former employee, and is out of the WWE Administration for now.
