Cody Rhodes goes a year around the Sun as the Undisputed WWE Champion since defeating Roman Reigns

Cody Rhodes won the title of the Undisputed WWE Champion after beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL. The day was April 7, 2024, Night 2 of the event, and now here we are a year later, and Cody Rhodes is still holding on to that belt with everything he has got. His caliber will be tested once again when he faces John Cena at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas for the rights to the title, and but for at least one more week, he is safe. Beating Roman Reigns was not easy, but Cody Rhodes managed to make it possible, with a little help, and won the Undisputed WWE Champion title at WrestleMania 40. Now, WrestleMania 41 is less than two weeks away, and the title will be up in the air again, with Rhodes defending it against none other than 16-time WWE Champion, John Cena. Ironically, Cena was one of the people who backed Cody in his fight against Reigns.Since his WrestleMania win last year, Rhodes has defended his title against numerous opponents, and until now, has come out victorious against each of them, retaining his title of the Undisputed WWE Champion. And he has finally completed a whole year, 365 days as the Undisputed champion, by defending his title against some of the best in the business. After his title win, he first retained it against AJ Styles at Backlash: France and Clash at the Castle. Then he defeated Solo Sikoa at SummerSlam 2024, keeping his reign intact, incidentally with the help of Roman Reigns. He faced Kevin Owens at Bash in Berlin and then fought against GUNTHER in a Champion vs. Champion clash to claim the Crown Jewel Title. Then finally, he fought Kevin Owens once more at Royal Rumble 2025, in a brutal Ladder match that left KO battered and bruised.In less than two weeks, he will face none other than John Cena, who is on his WWE Farewell Tour, in an epic showdown. And we can't wait to see what happens. This will be Threepeat for Rhodes, as this will be the third year in a row that he main events WrestleMania Night 2. WrestleMania 41 is set to take place in Las Vegas over the two-day weekend of April 19 and 20.
