The latest speculations hinting at Brock Lesnar's retirement from
WWE meant that the fans might never get to see some dream matches.
Brock Lesnar has been a marquee attraction for WWE for many years. However, he disappeared from the company after the 2023 WWE SummerSlam event when his name was linked to the highly publicized Vince McMahon Janel Grant sex trafficking lawsuit. The Beast has been spotted at various public events over the last two years.
Moreover, at a recent appearance, a fan approached Lesnar for a picture and claimed that he asked about his return to WWE. Brock Lesnar told him that he had retired from WWE, as revealed by the fan. Should it be true, here are the three dream matches that fans nearly missed out on pitting Brock Lesnar against the stars of today:
3. Solo Sikoa
In the absence of Brock Lesnar, the WWE Universe saw the rise of Solo Sikoa as a singles star. The Beast and the former Tribal Chief crossed paths during Lesnar's feud with Bloodline over the years, but never squared off in a singles match. Moreover, Solo's mean streak would have been able to go up against Brock Lesnar's wrath, which would have been a powerful showdown. However, that seems an unlikely possibility now that Brock Lesnar is likely retired from WWE, while Solo continues to be a regular fixture on SmackDown.
2. Bron Breakker
A rising WWE superstar who has been experiencing a similar push that Brock Lesnar did in his early days is Bron Breakker. His dominance in the ring, winning major championships very early in his career, and impressive strength have led to major comparisons with Lesnar. Moreover, many have believed that he would be the perfect replacement for Brock in WWE today. So, a showdown between two similar WWE superstars would have been monumental and could have been a major push for Breakker as the 'Next Big Thing.'
1. Gunther
The one dream showdown in WWE that the fans were extremely close to getting was between Brock Lesnar and Gunther. Amidst his absence after WWE SummerSlam 2023, it was reported that Lesnar was set to have a program with Gunther, which would have led to a mega match at WrestleMania 39. The match was already teased a year before in the 2022 Royal Rumble match during their face-off. While it would have been a blockbuster match, WWE nearly missed out on it as Lesnar's name in the Janel Grant lawsuit came up around the same time.
