She graduated from Moreno Valley School with an Associate’s degree in Math and Science. Following this, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from California Baptist College in 2013.
In 2014 Elias had worked at the Jason's Store Self-service counter. She had the job for a year before moving on to work as a retailer at Skechers the next year, where she has been working ever since. According to several reports, Owens and Elias first met each other through the early 2000s social media site Myspace, where they talked online for a month meeting in person.
