WWE veteran Lilian Garcia returned to her role after Samantha Irvin’s shocking departure from the promotion after serving a glorious career as an announcer. While Irvin’s departure almost created a void, WWE reached out to Garcia to bring the intense energy to the announcer’s role. In a recent interview, the WWE legend shared details of her return and when she got a call from the promotion.

Lilian Garcia has returned to the role of WWE announcer for the first time since 2016. Following the unexpected departure of Samantha Irvin who announced that she was leaving the company ahead of the October 21 edition of WWE Raw, WWE brought back Garcia for another run. In a recent Instagram Q&A, the legendary announcer shared details of how she got back to the promotion.
Recalling the emotional moment when she received the call to come back Garcia shared that it felt like a gift from her late father and she was happy with the opportunity. “When I got the call, just a few weeks ago, I got the call to come back. I felt like this was my dad and his gift, bringing me to this again,” Garcia said in the Q&A.
She went on to detail her return to WWE in Philadelphia stating that she was overwhelmed by the warmth and support from the audience. “I have missed you guys and I will say that when my music hit and I came out in Philadelphia,” she continued. She further described that she was unprepared for the overwhelming energy she felt from the crowd. “I have missed you guys and I will say that when my music hit and I came out in Philadelphia, I was not prepared for the love. I feel like this massive wall came through me with this rush and this energy. I thank you so much,” Garcia added.

It is fair to assume that Garcia’s extended run in WWE would be full-time as fans embraced the decision to bring back the legendary announcer. As for her predecessor Irvin, she left the promotion to focus on her career as a musician. Fans believed that Irvin was AEW bound following the footsteps of her partner Ricochet, however, reports suggested that she is more focused on her musical career rather than being an announcer.
