The Epic Showdown: Gunther vs Randy Orton WWE 'Bash in Berlin'

A normal World Heavyweight Championship contest has turned into a personal rivalry between two towering figures, Gunther(the champion) and Randy Orton. Now, the fans can't wait for the much anticipated match to start, as the action is bound to be captivating on 31st August, at ‘Bash in Berlin’. But where did all of this start between Randy and Gunther? How has the feud developed between two of the big ticket superstars in WWE?
Here are all the details of this exciting clash.

Start of the rivalry
The story between Gunther and Orton began at the King of the Ring tournament final, where both the superstars met for the first time to decide the winner of the King of the Ring tournament. The ‘Ring General’ was able to defeat ‘The Viper’ to win the King of the Ring crown, albeit controversially, as when Gunther was pinning Orton, it was evident that Orton's shoulders were not completely down, while the referee counted 3. Even WWE COO Triple H agreed over this controversial ending and stated that the climax of the match was not clean. Cut to RAW after SummerSlam, Gunther has won his first World Title in WWE defeating Damian Priest(with Finn Balor’s betrayal) and is out to address the world as the new World Heavyweight Champion. Surprisingly, Randy’s entrance music hit and the whole Arena was shocked, as Orton is not a part of the RAW roster.

The Challenge
Orton challenged Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, owing to the fact that Gunther had not defeated Randy at the King of the Ring tournament final, cleanly. Responding positively to the challenge, Gunther accepted it and gave the ‘Apex Predator’ a chance to capture his 15th World Title in WWE, at Bash in Berlin. Following that, Gunther has made things personal with the ‘Legend Killer’, when two weeks ago, he mentioned Orton's family in a degrading manner, saying his father and grandfather were screw ups. This infuriated the Viper, who retaliated with an ‘RKO’ out of nowhere to Gunther.

The final statement
Then on the August 19 episode of RAW, Gunther made a plan to attack Randy, along with his Imperium colleague Ludwig Kaiser. Both men beat up Orton which set up a match between Kaiser and Orton for the main event. In that match, Orton once again proved his mettle by defeating Kaiser easily and then going on to beat Gunther up, in the closing moments of the segment. Moreover, on RAW this Monday, Orton revealed his intentions to the world and Gunther that he is going to beat the Ring General for his 15th World Championship, just like he has been able to beat the demons in his head.
