WWE NXT Star expresses desire to face John Cena before he retires

WWE NXT has a lot of wrestlers who are talented and are capable of holding their own within the ring. One such wrestler has expressed his desire to wrestle John Cena before he finally retires in the year of 2026. Cena begins his retirement tour next year, and it’s believed that he’ll be trying to break the record for the most number of World Championships in the promotion. He’s currently tied at 16 Championships with Ric Flair, and would try to break the record before he retires. However, as Cena starts off on his retirement tour, here’s what a NXT star had to say. The star in concern is WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi. When speaking with Going Ringside in an interview, Femi stated that John Cena was one of the wrestlers who he would like to face. He said, “Main roster, Randy [Orton], John Cena hopefully before he retires and leaves us alone, Gunther, Drew McIntyre.”Of all the wrestlers mentioned on this list, he’ll have an easier time facing Gunther and even Drew McIntyre, but considering that Randy Orton and John Cena are two of the most legendary wrestlers in the company at this point, it’s going to be interesting to see how Femi gets to face these two wrestlers in the coming days. Starting from the Miz to even Randy Orton, many current WWE Superstars have expressed their desire to face John Cena in a matchup before the legendary wrestler retires. Furthermore, it’ll be interesting to see if the company gives John the 17th title shot, considering that he’s been the face of the company so long. Even if he’s scheduled for a title run, it’ll not be against one of the newer wrestlers in the company. It’ll only be against one of the more established wrestlers in the company that he’ll challenge for the title, because this run is more about his legacy and not putting over any other wrestler at this point in time. With that said, it’ll be interesting to see if he gets to face any NXT wrestler during his retirement tour in the WWE.
