According to a report by Fightful,
WWE superstar Cody Rhodes was being discussed for a Netflix movie role earlier this year. Netflix is paying a lot of money to get the Red brand over on their platform and wish to leverage WWE’s biggest names like
Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk.
Now, while Netflix was discussing a movie role with Rhodes, talks eventually fell through. This could be because of Cody’s incredibly busy schedule. At the time of writing, Cody is the Undisputed WWE Champion and is on a run reminiscent of John Cena’s during his time at the top.
Clearly, a star of his caliber can’t just leave his WWE fans hanging to go and pursue new projects in Hollywood. However, Cody might have to vacate the title within the coming months, which could open up his schedule a little. Let’s take a closer look at how this could come to be.

Rhodes finished his story at WrestleMania 40 and has been going strong ever since. But, as of right now, there are a lot of ways in which Cody could end up losing his title soon. For starters, John Cena’s retirement tour is coming up, and it is extremely likely that he will end up having another title reign before hanging up his boots and it wouldn't make sense for Cena to go for any belt outside the World Heavyweight Championship and the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Additionally, Reigns is now back and is racing to get revenge against Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline. When and if he succeeds, Roman might also turn his attention towards the Undisputed WWE Championship. Last but not least, The Rock Final Boss has been eyeing Cody’s title for a while, and his appearance at Bad Blood 2024 indicates that he might make a move soon.
So, it isn’t a long shot to say that Cody might lose his title soon. If this happens, his schedule will open up, and we just might get to see Rhodes put a few more Hollywood projects under his belt.
