WWE is enjoying great popularity all over the world, with superstars like Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns and Rhea Ripley considered “Demigods” in terms of fan-following. Fans are intrigued with different storylines presented over the calendar year, among the plethora of talented wrestlers. But there are some stars which are definitely not on the favorite list of the WWE Universe, owing to different reasons. Here are five overhyped WWE superstars of 20241. Roxxane Perez
The 2 time NXT Women’s Champion, Roxxane Perez is merely 22 years of age and is already a defending World Champion in the NXT, a fact which has not gone down well with the audience. Having debuted in 2022, Perez hasn’t really made her place in the hearts of the fans, and the NXT management should have waited for her to prosper even more, before handing her the Women’s Championship so early. Her persona feels like something is missing in the character. Most of her matches seem to be monotonous and more character development is required for her, before she debuts in the WWE main roster.2. Austin Theory
Having debuted in NXT in 2019 and in the WWE Main roster in 2020, Austin theory has not delivered on the promise that he had shown. The former two-time United States Champion was believed to be the next big thing in WWE, but his gimmick has not evolved at all, over the last 2-3 years.
Having been handed the United States Championship early in his career, he had a decent run with it, but it was more so because of the quality of his opponents, rather than his own performances. His Tag Team Championship run with partner Grayson Waller was far from fruitful and it ended abruptly as they were defeated for the Titles ,by the team of DIY earlier this year. For Theory to succeed as a main event Star, he has to work on his character development and Mic skills. 3. Tanga Loa
Tanga Loa was introduced to the WWE Universe as a part of the new looking Bloodline faction, as the brother of Tama Tonga and Solo Sikoa. While his entry was thrilling with him interfering in the Bloodline’s, match against Randy Orton and Kevin Owens, the way he has been performing inside the ring and in the brawls, has been awful to say the least. He has a neck of forgetting and botching his moves every now and then, which makes for hilarious scenes. His group member, the “Enforcer” Jacob Fatu has severely outshone him ever since emerging in WWE. Even Tanga’s first appearance as a Bloodline member was a botch, when he was late in coming out from beneath the ring, to break the three count of Kevin Owens. If he wants to make an impact on the audience, he has to pull up his socks pretty soon.4. Bronson Reed
Having debuted in NXT in 2019 and then gone away, Bronson Reed returned to WWE in 2022 and had a big reputation to follow. But that hasn’t been the case with the big heavyweight, until this August. His rivalries with Seth Rollins and Bron Strowman have been going well, but before that, Reed had not done anything of note, despite the huge potential that he has. His in-ring skills have not been properly presented yet and his fans would hope for more screen time for “Big Bronson Reed”.5. Dominik Mysterio
Having emerged with his Hall of Fame father Rey Mysterio back in 2020, Dominik Mysterio has been doing pretty well as a heel and boyfriend to the two most dominant female wrestlers of WWE, Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. But as a singles competitor, apart from winning the NXT North American Championship, “Dirty Dom” has not done much of note, to deliver to the huge potential that he had. He needs to be on the Championship scene(of any championship),to cement his place as one of the top singles stars of the company. The character that Dominik plays is pretty entertaining, but his potential as a performer inside the ring is untouched yet.
