Nintendo used its June 2026 Direct presentation to unveil a lineup of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2. This includes a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, a dedicated Switch 2 version of Minecraft, the long-awaited reveal of Kingdom Hearts 4, and several new first-party and third-party titles.The showcase focused heavily on Nintendo’s release slate for the second half of 2026 and beyond, with announcements spanning action RPGs, sports titles, multiplayer games, and role-playing adventures. Several titles also received release dates, while others were confirmed for launch in 2027.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake confirmed

The presentation was rounded out by Nintendo revealing a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2. The teaser was brief, showing Link sleeping in his house before the footage cut away. Nintendo said the remake will come in 2026, calling it:“Classic Nintendo 64 title is back for a new generation in 2026, remade exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2!." However, the company did not show gameplay footage or a specific release date.

Minecraft and Kingdom Hearts headline third-party reveals

A dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft was confirmed during the event. The updated version will feature improved visuals, enhanced lighting, and updated shadow effects. Existing worlds will carry over to the new version. Mojang has not yet announced a launch date, but the game is expected later this year.Square Enix also revealed Kingdom Hearts 4 after years of speculation.
While no release window has been announced, the game is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Steam, and Epic Games Store.Additionally, the Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] will arrive on Switch 2 on October 8, with a playable demo for Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind becoming available immediately.

New Nintendo games coming to Switch 2

Nintendo announced several first-party titles and updates during the presentation. Splatoon Raiders received a new gameplay trailer ahead of its July 23 release. Nintendo also confirmed a dedicated Splatoon Raiders Direct presentation for June 30. A new entry in the Xenoblade series, Xenoblade Genesis, was announced for Switch 2 with a 2027 release window.Nintendo Switch Sports Resort was also unveiled. The game returns players to Wuhu Island and includes sports such as boxing, tennis, volleyball, basketball, golf, archery, and a new thumb wrestling mode. The game launches October 22, exclusively for Switch 2. Meanwhile, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave received a September 17 release date.

RPGs and action games get release dates

The showcase featured a number of role-playing games and action titles. Square Enix announced Final Fantasy Resonance, an HD-2D turn-based RPG launching October 22 for Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World will be released for Switch and Switch 2 on December 3.Other notable announcements included:
  • Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 — Holiday 2026
  • Lies of P: Complete Edition — August 6
  • Onimusha: Way of the Sword — September 25
  • Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition — June 23
  • Lords of the Fallen 2 — Fall 2026
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen expansion — October 9
  • Additional announcements and updates
Nintendo also revealed a variety of new projects and content updates:
  • One Piece: Grand Gourmet, a restaurant management simulation game based on the popular anime franchise, launches October 23 for Switch, Switch 2, PC, iOS, and Android.
  • Big Walk, a cooperative multiplayer adventure from the creators of Untitled Goose Game, arrives August 4 on Switch 2.
  • Pokémon Pokopia is receiving a free update in August that adds the new Dive ability, while the first part of its Expansion Pass DLC, Bubbly Basin, will also launch that month.
