Canon EOS R6 V with RF 20-50 F4L IS USM lens launched: Price in India, features about the company’s latest camera for video makers
Canon has launched its latest camera, the Canon EOS R6V camera the RF 20-50 F4L IS USM Lens in India, targeting video creators. This is the company’s first-ever full-frame professional-grade L-series lens with a built-in power zoom. Positioned as a “future-ready” ecosystem, the new duo is designed to meet the high-speed demands of wedding filmmakers, regional cinema and digital-first content creators – combining cinematic imaging, advanced video performance, mobility and lens innovation in one ecosystem.
“From weddings, cinematography and regional cinema to digital-first content and independent productions, creators today demand tools that deliver cinematic excellence, mobility, and workflow agility without compromise,” he said.
Toshiaki Nomura, President and CEO, Canon India, said: “With the launch of the EOS R6V camera and RF 20-50 F4L IS USM lens we are strengthening Canon’s video-focused ecosystem in India with a future-ready solution built for modern filmmaking and creator-led storytelling.”
One of the highlights of the camera is the inclusion of a fan that addresses the common “overheating” issue of modern mirrorless cameras. The Canon EOS R6 V includes a built-in cooling fan, allowing for recording times up to three times longer than its predecessors, the company claims, adding that the camera gets built-in optical image stabilisation to cancel out the vibration caused by the fan movement.
When it comes to user interface, Canon says that it automatically rotates when shooting vertically, catering to the “Reels and Shorts” era. The camera gets a dedicated vertical tripod socket.
The features addresses the camera balance shift issue because the lens barrel does not change length while zooming, allowing it to be used on gimbals or complex rigs.
The Canon EOS R6 V features a front-facing recording button and a "tally lamp" that glows red when the camera is live, allowing to “selfie” content creation . The camera also supports the new Wireless Remote Controller K544, which comes bundled with a portable tripod grip that doubles as a selfie stick.
