The ability to swing the ball both ways, even though with limited pace, and the persistence to bowl long spells make Praveen Kumar a very effective bowler specially on unresponsive Indian wickets. Praveen took four wickets against Australia in the second final of the Commonwealth Bank Series in Brisbane to lead India to a nine-run victory. Playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Praveen took a hat-trick against the Rajasthan Royals in the third edition of the Indian Premier League. Praveen is also handy with the bat and has even opened the batting at the domestic level. Praveen missed the 2011 ODI World Cup due to an elbow injury.
