Three things that don't need to spoil your trip

To ensure your time in Edinburgh goes without a hitch, here are a few things to be aware of:
1. Unlike most capitals, the majority of Edinburgh can be traversed on foot. So if you're here for just a short time choose a central hotel and forget about buying a transport ticket - you're unlikely to use it.

2. During the Fringe Festival, accommodation is always completely booked out (and usually months in advance), so don’t just turn up and hope.
3. Scottish people are either Scottish or British: they are not English. Call them English at your peril.
