Regardless of the international diners who make their way to this corner of Trastevere, La Fraschetta remains resolutely a Roman place where locals eat, and the waiters will speak to you in Italian whether or not you show any propensity for the language. People come for the food, which is excellent all round.
The interior is traditional and rustic with bunches of garlic hanging from the ceiling and chequered table cloths, and the atmosphere convivial with two noisy and bustling rooms full of happy eaters. Book in advance, as there is a long queue right up until closing time.
