Artist, celebrity bartender, and owner Grant Henry, also known as Sister Louisa, is a campy fellow who is one of Atlanta's best-loved characters. His work, including much with religious implication, adorns the walls and is one reason to visit. The wild decor even includes a church confessional.
Sister Louisa has specialized in education, antiques, and, yes, divinity, and his Church attracts a highly diverse crowd to the Old Fourth Ward in search of cheap beers, hot dogs, ping pong, and hip music (including that from an electric organ). A bit irreverent? Certainly. But the atmosphere at Church is aptly all warmth and generosity.
