Showcasing the cultural heritage of Agra, Kalakriti Cultural & Convention Center is the largest and most impressive emporium in the city. The emporium is located in proximity to the Taj Mahal. The entrance door of the emporium is studded with semi-precious stones and resembles the popular Buland Darwaza. Similar to the door, the walls too feature elaborate carvings and patterns. Inside the emporium, one can spot artisans working dextrously to make intricately patterned inlay work for which Agra monuments are popular. In the evening, Kalakriti organises ‘Mohabbat-the-Taj’—a spectacular theatrical play in Urdu depicting the immortal love of Shah Jahan for Mumtaz Mahal.
