Sumedha has travelled across 28 countries, including a major chunk of India, and calls Japan, Thailand, France and Switzerland her pet destinations. She is seasoned in going off the beaten track and loves documenting her journeys. Apart from getting lost in metropolises, being stranded at airports and finding solace in the hills, she actively writes for eminent travel platforms. You can follow her trips on her social media handles.
A few minutes away from the Bern Train Station, Turnhalle is a wonderful place to catch up with friends in the Swiss capital, a cold beverage or two in hand. With a spacious courtyard and an outdoor area that often witnesses amazing concerts, this nightspot is perpetually crowded with young patrons and travellers. The drinks served at this bar are basic and moderately priced and the service is really friendly. There is a good selection of local beers if you are an ale person and as far as the food is concerned, the menu includes homemade panini and desserts, all of which are prepared with the freshest of ingredients.
Turnhalle, owing to its popularity, is a partner for a number of festivals and cultural institutions in the city and you might just find yourself attending an exciting event. It is difficult to believe that this address once used to be a school.
