Bhutan’s Mountain Echoes Literary Festival definitely holds an important position among all Bhutan festivals. This year will mark ninth edition of the literary festival, and the organiser has already announced the names of guests who are coming in to the festival. The festival is set to be held from August 23 to 25, 2018, so you might want to book your tickets.

The festival is looking to bring in speakers, actors, and experts from the fields of music, art, and literature. According to news reports, the festival will be graced by Naseeruddin Shah, Ratna Pathak and Usha Uthup.

Also, August 2018 will see the 50th anniversary of Bhutan-India diplomatic relations. The festival will also celebrate Untouched Beauty, Unexplored Ideas, and Unstoppable Voices from Himalayas.


This year due to the bilateral relationship’s 50th anniversary, you will be able to witness an interesting conversation wherein General V. Namgyel (Bhutan’s Ambassador to India) and Jaideep Sarkar (India’s Ambassador to Bhutan), will speak with Dasho Chewang Rinzin (Deputy Chamberlain to the Bhutanese king).

"Mountain Echoes has become a key event in the Bhutanese calendar bringing both the curious and the intellectual minds together for three days of fun. The niche festival will spark the imagination of both local and global audiences through a diverse range of electrifying conversations," said eminent Bhutanese writer and festival co-director Tshering Tashi.
