The Puri Lukisan Museum is Bali's oldest art museum, home to the finest collection of modern-traditional Balinese painting and wood carving from the Sanur, Batuan, Ubud, Young Artist and Keliki art schools. The collection includes examples of all of the artistic styles in Bali spanning from the pre-Independence war to the to the post-Independence war era.

The museum consists of three main buildings each linked together by walkways through tranquil, lush gardens with lotus ponds throughout.

Building I (North) - houses the Pre-War modern-traditional Balinese paintings (1930-1945) and I Gusti Nyoman Lempad collection. Classic works from the 1930s heyday of expats can also be found here.

Building II (West) - houses the Ida Bagus Made Estate Collection

Building III (East) - houses the Wayang Painting Collection. This building is also used for temporary exhibitions.

A coffee shop can also be found in the grounds of the museum overlooking the gardens, as well as a gift shop with an abundance of reproductions, postcards, art books and exhibit catalogues.
