Punjab Government starts free bus service for Prakash Purb celebrations

The Punjab Government has started a free bus service from today to facilitate the travel for pilgrims, who will be visiting Sultanpur Lodhi for the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations. This decision was taken recently after a meeting was held between the officers of tourism and transport departments, chaired by Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.
As per the reports, as many as 1500 buses will be plying to take devotees to Sultanpur Lodhi from November 5 to 12. Referring to this development, the minister stated that the detailed schedule of the buses has already been sent to the DCs and SDMs of all the districts. He also mentioned that the buses have been allotted as per village and city in every assembly constituency to ensure that all the devotees are able to visit Sultanpur Lodhi.
The minister also mentioned that department has started 24x7 toll-free number 1800-180-0550 to ensure people are able to get all the information with regard to the Prakash Purb celebrations.
As per reports, the chief minister will also be opening an exhibition, manuscripts, showcasing relics, and rare books associated with Guru Nanak. Further, the exhibition, which is being organised by the State Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, will have 53 panels of 8x8 ft related to Guru Nanak and will continue till November 15.

These panels will trace the history of Guru Nanak from his birth to the time he left for his heavenly abode. One will get the opportunity to witness original Nanakshahi bricks from the house of the Guru’s elder sister, Bebe Nanaki. Besides gold, silver, and copper, you will also get to see Nanakshahi coins displayed there.
